BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - A huge crowd of people gathered last night (Jan. 3) at Warner Park for the Prime Minister’s New Year Extravaganza and was not disappointed with the performance headlined by Jamaican artiste Serani.
According to many patrons, they were pleased with the singer’s performance who entered the stage with his famous line ‘It’s it’s it’s Serani’.

He then performed a number of his hit songs including ‘Is This Real’, ‘Can’t Study People’, ‘Stinking Rich’, ‘It’s My Destiny’ and ‘Duh’. The latter features Bugle in which Serani registered his name in the music industry.

He also performed the hit song ‘Dying’ that was originally done with fellow Jamaican artiste Mavado, which quickly topped dancehall reggae charts and got much international recognition.

One of the crowd’s favorite, however, was no doubt his biggest hit song ‘No Games’ which most persons sang along with him.

The ‘Dasaca’ label singer also hyped up the massive crowd with a few of Elephant Man’s dance moves like ‘Signal De Plane’, ‘Pon De River’ and the ‘Ge Dem a Run’. At the end of his performance, Serani, in many people’s opinion, made a lasting impression for the 35 to 40 minutes that he was on the stage.

Earlier in the evening, Infamus, who in recent times have been performing at shows both locally and regionally, did his thing with the popular ’21 Gun Salute’ - one of the biggest hits to originate from St. Kitts by any local artiste. He also did a number of other tracks including ‘Sometimes I Feel Like Crying’.

The crowd was then treated to a special performance by Tanya Stephens, who was featured two days before at the New Year Carnival Reggae Bash.

In the midst of all the excitement, Sweet Sister Sensia kept the crowd on its feet with some music while Prime Minister Dr. Denzil Douglas and other Ministers of Government gave inspiring speeches to an eager crowd that hoped the bell would have rung to announce the election date.

The Extravaganza began sometime around 7:00 p.m and ended just about five minutes after midnight.
