Basseterre, St. Kitts – 18 July 2025 – The People’s Action Movement (PAM) extends heartfelt appreciation to His Excellency Ambassador Lin of the Republic of China (Taiwan), as his distinguished tenure as Ambassador to the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis ends.
In a formal letter addressed to Ambassador Lin, PAM’s Political Leader Mrs. Natasha Grey-Brookes expressed gratitude for the Ambassador’s steadfast commitment to strengthening the long-standing friendship between Taiwan and the Federation.
“Since your arrival, you have been a tireless advocate for the strong and enduring relationship between our two nations,” Mrs. Grey-Brookes wrote. “Your dedication to fostering cooperation across various sectors—education, sustainable development, public health, and infrastructure, has been truly commendable. The People’s Action Movement and the people of St. Kitts & Nevis are immensely thankful for the tangible impact of your service.”
The Republic of China (Taiwan) holds a particularly historic place in the diplomatic history of St. Kitts and Nevis. It was the first nation with which the newly independent Federation established diplomatic relations in 1983, under a PAM-led administration headed by Dr. the Rt Excellent and Rt Hon Sir Kennedy Simmonds, the first Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis. That landmark decision laid the foundation for what has become a resilient, strategic, and people-centered bilateral relationship.
Mrs. Grey-Brookes added: “This is more than just diplomacy—it is a friendship rooted in mutual respect and shared democratic values. Ambassador Lin’s tenure represents a continuation of the vision we laid down over four decades ago under PAM leadership. We are proud of that legacy and remain committed to its advancement.”
As the Federation prepares to welcome Ambassador Lin’s successor, PAM looks forward to continuing its strong support for the development and growth of bilateral relations with the Republic of China (Taiwan).
