BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - THE first festival of the year takes you to the island of Barbados as that Caribbean country will be hosting its 17th Annual Jazz Festival from January 11 to 17, 2010, featuring Contemporary Jazz Classics and Bajan Blues.
The festival will take place at various locations around Barbados, including the Sunbury Plantation House, Heritage Park/The Rum Factory, Garfield Sobers Complex and Farley Hill National Park.
According to a release out of Barbados, this year’s festival would be headlined by 1970s Motown star Smokey Robinson, and would also feature a wide range of contemporary and classic jazz vocalists including Etienne Charles, Babyface, Lalah Hathaway, Robin Thicke, Warren Hill and the Cuban Classics.
Shows begin each night from 8:00 with the exception of January 16 and 17, which take place during the day and begin at 12 noon and 1:00 p.m respectively.
