BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force is pushing back against claims that several officers from its elite tactical units have suddenly resigned, calling the media report “fake news.”
The article in question alleged that “nearly 20 officers from the elite tactical units of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force have submitted immediate resignations, plunging the force into what sources are calling an unprecedented leadership crisis.”
However, when contacted by SKNVibes News, police officials denied that any emergency meeting had been convened by the High Command to address the alleged situation.
Pressed on the number of officers who have left the Force in recent times, Deputy Commissioner of Police Cromwell Henry acknowledged he did not have the exact figures readily available but emphasized that the number was "no way close to 20".
"This has been happening from time immemorial, people will always leave organisations to improve their lot. The numbers now are not unusual," Henry wrote.
The situation continues to attract public attention, with social media users sharing their views and personal accounts in response to both the resignation claims and the Police Force’s official statement.
