BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – POLICE late last evening (Aug. 3) confirmed that the missing female hiker who disappeared in the vicinity of Mount Liamuiga has been located.
In an official statement, police said the hiker was found and appeared to be in “good health,” though she was taken to the hospital for medical evaluation and clearance.
According to the report, at around 1:00 p.m. on Saturday (Aug. 3), two female visitors and a local guide were hiking the Mount Liamuiga trail when one of them – identified as LaReign Lion – reportedly stopped to rest while the others continued to the summit.
However, when they returned to the area where she had remained, she was no longer there.
A coordinated search effort was immediately launched, involving officers from the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force and personnel from the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).
