ST.GEORGE’S GRENADA- AUGUST 5, 2025 - Executive Director for the Partnership Initiative for Sustainable Land Management (PISLM), Dr. Ronen Francis, paid a courtesy call to The Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Agriculture, Lands and Forestry Grenada, as part of the organisation's efforts to strengthen regional cooperation on sustainable land and soil management.
The courtesy call was made on Monday 5th, August 2025. The first official working day for Dr. Francis as the new Executive Director of the PISLM headquartered in Grenada. He met with Permanent Secretary Isaac Bhagwan, along with staff of the Ministry of Agriculture, Lands and Forestry and reaffirmed his and the PISLM support to Grenada and its efforts to address Land
degradation. He also expressed thanks to the Minister and Permanent Secretary for the Ministry’s support to PISLM over the years.
The discussions at the Ministry of Agriculture focused on the implementation of projects such as CSIDS SOILCARE project and the Carriacou Integrated Landscape Management Project.
At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he met with Permanent Secretary Roxie Mc Leish-Hutchinson where discussions centered on diplomatic support for the organisation, including the finalization for setting up the headquarters for the regional Inter Governmental-Organisation (IGO) in Grenada.
The PISLM headquarters will serve as the hub for the operations of the Inter-Governmental Organisation (IGO), which will lead coordinated action and implement projects that will improve sustainable land and soil management within Caribbean Small Island Developing States (CSIDS).
