New Taiwanese Ambassador Pays Courtesy Call on PAM Political Leader

By: PAM Secretariat, Press Release

Basseterre, St. Kitts 8 August, 2025 — His Excellency Edward Ling-Wen Tao, the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of China (Taiwan) to St. Kitts and Nevis, recently paid a courtesy call on the Political Leader of the People’s Action Movement (PAM), Mrs. Natasha Grey-Brookes.

During the meeting, which was held in Basseterre, a symbolic exchange of gifts took place. Mrs. Grey-Brookes presented Ambassador Ling-Wen Tao with a wall painting featuring a Caribelle Batik design, along with an autographed copy of The Making of a National Hero, the memoir of the Right Excellent and Right Honourable Dr. Sir Kennedy A. Simmonds, National Hero and First Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis. Mrs. Grey-Brookes was accompanied on the visit by Mr. Lincoln David-Pelle, one of PAM’s Deputy Political Leaders.

The Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) holds historical significance, having been one of the first diplomatic missions established in St. Kitts and Nevis following the nation’s independence in 1983. The People's Action Movement continues to recognize and value the longstanding friendship and cooperation between the two nations.
