Police lay eight charges in Nevis shooting case

    CHARLESTOWN, Nevis — A Pond’s Pasture man has been slapped with eight charges in connection with a July 30 shooting that left a police officer nursing injuries.

     

    Police say 32-year-old Kareem “Junjun” Jeffers was formally charged on August 8 at the Basseterre Police Station in relation to the incident, which injured Officer Talbert Warner Jr.

     

    The charges include:

     

    -- One count of Attempted Murder

     

    -- One count of Possession of Firearm

     

    -- One count of Possession of Ammunition

     

    -- One count of Possession of Firearm with Intent to Endanger Life

     

    -- One count of Discharging a Loaded Firearm within Forty Yards of a Public Road

     

    -- Three counts of Shooting with Intent

     

    Police have not yet disclosed further details about the circumstances surrounding the shooting
