Cricket West Indies Director of Cricket Miles Bascombe expressed his delight at hosting the tournament another year.
"The Rising Stars Under 17 Championship is one of the most important stepping stones in our player development pathway. By giving our young cricketers exposure to both the 2-Day red-ball format and the 50-Over white-ball format, we are building all-round skills, discipline and adaptability from an early age.”
“This tournament mirrors the demands of the modern game, ensuring that by the time these players progress to higher levels, they already understand how to adjust their techniques, tactics and mindset for different conditions and formats.”
“It is an important competition where we get to see future regional Under 19 representatives in action and is a fantastic opportunity for them to showcase their abilities, continue to learn the game and take massive strides towards that next level.”
This tournament is pivotal for scouting regional talent, which further enables player progression to West Indies senior international cricket and remains a key element of the West Indies Rising Stars development programme.
