Port-of-Spain, Trinidad. August 7th 2025 -- The support given to him throughout his life, by the people of his homeland, Tobago, will be reciprocated in a very special way this October. Shurwayne Winchester is, and will forever be a ‘Bago boy. His love for his little piece of paradise runs deep and as the island prepares for another Carnival celebration in October, he announces his direct involvement, touching the feting landscape for the delivery of ‘Tobago Love, The Xperience.”

“Any foreigner landing in Tobago on Thursday, 23rd October must experience this event, and for those from Tobago, who’ve been away for a while, they must come and be reintroduced to what they’ve been missing,” said the ‘Dead or Alive’ singer. Just coming off major performances in Toronto, for Caribana, Shurwaye has immediately jumped into planning for ‘Tobago Love.’ He is teaming up with Foreign Bass Promotions and MVP, to create something that he says will offer a truly authentic taste of Tobago – something that will ultimately wake up the island.

A food inclusive event, ‘Tobago Love’ will start at 6pm and end at 11pm. “This is not a hot sun event. We’re catering to the fetters. We want you comfortable, energized, fed and ready to party,” said Shurwayne. His Carnival all-inclusive event in Trinidad, held annually in Arima, has augured well for his development as a promoter. “They say it takes a village to raise a child. Tobago raised me. Because of the support of Tobago, I am able to be who I am, and do what I am doing now. Now it’s my turn to give back in my way. At every opportunity I will tell the people wherever I go about Tobago and why they should come to Tobago for Carnival, because this is our opportunity to share our Tobago Love with the world.”

His recent performances in Vancouver and Toronto allowed him the chance to tell Canadian fetters about the event and Tobago Carnival. “I’m happy to not just send people to Tobago now. I’m happy to be able to receive them this year. When they come to the event, they’re now seeing the face that they saw on stage, but in a different capacity. I’m going to show them what I learnt from my mom and my dad, my grandparents,” said the artiste. He says ‘Tobago Love’ will show the world exactly what it means to be loved the Tobagonian way. “There is nothing behind it but just wanting people to feel good. The neighbour who comes or the stranger who comes, must leave with their belly full and the welcome and the hospitality they receive will ultimately be the reason they return again and again,” he said.

The hospitality factor has worked remarkably well for Shurwayne in Trinidad, but with a different reason behind this Tobago Love Xperience, he will position the event in a strategic way, aiding in tourism and culture promotion from all angles. “For Tourism, I’m happy to be playing a direct part in it. This allows me to promote Tobago in a very personal way. I want to welcome the people, as a Tobagonian. I am going to give them a piece of me – not the artiste Shurwayne Winchester, but Shurwayne.”
