At the CFBC, she chaired key committees—including the Disciplinary, ICT, and Research Committees—and coordinated the College Mathematics Programme.

Since 2002, Mrs Gray-Phillip has contributed significantly to The UWI’s distance education initiatives, serving in various roles, including local tutor, E-tutor, Course Coordinator, Facilitator, Second Examiner, Course Reviewer, Course Developer, and Research Supervisor. Additionally, she has served the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) as the Convenor for the 2022 review of the Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE) Integrated Mathematics syllabus, where she led the work of the Syllabus Review Committee and Panel. She also served as a member of the CAPE Syllabus Review Committee/Panel for Pure Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, and Statistical Analysis, contributing to two separate review cycles.

Beyond her pursuits in education, Mrs Gray-Phillip served as Senior Director at the St. Kitts and Nevis Central Statistics Office (2018-2019), where she contributed to national data systems. She is also a published researcher and has conducted research focusing on alcohol consumption, alcohol policies, and marijuana use among adolescents. She is the lead author and contributing author on several articles published in the Drug and Alcohol Review and in the Texto & Contexto Enfermagem, a journal that publishes technical-scientific research in health, particularly nursing.

Mrs. Gray-Phillip currently serves on the Board of Governors for CFBC and is the St Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister’s Appointee on the National Council on Drug Abuse Prevention. She is also a member of the Mixed-Methods International Research Association Caribbean Chapter (MMIRA-CC).

Mrs. Gray-Phillip holds a Bachelor of Science degree from The UWI Mona and a Master of Research in Educational and Social Research from the University of London’s School of Education. She also possesses specialised certification in monitoring and evaluating the impact of illicit drugs in the Americas and has completed training in results-based management, with a focus on monitoring and evaluation. She is a PhD Candidate in Education at The UWI Mona, where she employs a mixed-methods approach to explore how several factors influence adult students’ commitment to learning in an online environment.

In commenting on this appointment, Pro Vice-Chancellor and Principal, Dr. Francis O. Severin, stated: “We have talented, gifted and committed colleagues in the Global Campus whose disposition, character and temperament are especially suited to the Global Campus and its historic mission of meeting people where they are. Mrs Gray-Phillip is another of our colleagues who makes us proud and who continues to leave a positive impression on us, whether as staff, students or external stakeholders. She is eminently qualified for this position, and she deserves it.”
