Police probing Saddlers burglary

By: Staff Reporter, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts — POLICE have launched an investigation into a burglary and assault reported in Saddlers on August 27.

According to a police statement, the incident occurred between 3:00 a.m. and 4:00 a.m. at the home of Winston “Monster” Phipps.

Phipps told police he was awakened by someone calling his name through a window. He then noticed a hand extended inside, holding a firearm. Moments later, another armed, masked man forced his way through a door. The two assailants entered the home and demanded money.

The men reportedly assaulted Phipps before stealing an undisclosed sum of cash and fleeing the scene.

Police confirmed that Phipps sustained multiple injuries. He was transported by ambulance to the Joseph N. France General Hospital, where he was admitted to the Surgical Ward for treatment.

This latest incident adds to a growing wave of robberies and gun-related crimes across St. Kitts and Nevis. In recent weeks, several supermarkets have been targeted by violent offenders who managed to escape.

Police continue to urge residents to take their personal security seriously and ensure that their homes and belongings are properly secured.
