CHARLESTOWN, Nevis – ANGUILLAN national Cadeem Daniel has been hit with five charges in connection with cannabis-related offences, following the discovery of suspected contraband during a routine vessel inspection.

According to police, on September 2, 2025, officers from the St. Kitts and Nevis Customs and Excise Department carried out a routine search of a motor vessel that had docked at the Charlestown Pier, Nevis.

During the inspection, officers reportedly found three plastic bags containing a vegetable substance suspected to be cannabis inside Daniel’s luggage. The discovery was immediately reported to the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF), Division “C.” Officers responded, seized the suspected contraband, and took Daniel into custody.

Subsequent testing confirmed the substance to be cannabis.

On September 3, 2025, Daniel was formally charged by both the RSCNPF and the Customs and Excise Department with the following offences:

Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Supply (RSCNPF)

    Importation of Cannabis (RSCNPF)

Importation of Restricted Goods (Customs Dept.)

Importation of Goods Packed in a Manner to Deceive Customs Officers (Customs Dept.)

    Counterfeiting Documents (Customs Dept.)

Daniel is the latest in a growing number of individuals recently charged with importing cannabis into the Federation.
