BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – POLICE are investigating two separate shooting incidents across the Federation that left two men injured, as cases of Shooting with Intent continue to rise.

In a statement to the media, police confirmed that the first incident occurred this morning (Sept. 18) in the Newcastle area, Nevis, where a man was injured and later transported to the hospital. Reports indicate the shooting took place near the Combermere Pre-School.

Shortly after confirming that case, law enforcement reported a second incident in Halfway Tree, where another man sustained a gunshot wound to one of his hands.

None of the victims were identified.

These incidents add to a growing number of Shooting with Intent cases in the Federation. So far, 15 such incidents have been recorded this year—three on Nevis and 12 on St. Kitts.
