Basseterre, St. Kitts- On the behalf of its membership and Calypsonians, the management of the Legends Band/Calypso Tent wishes to thank the general public and it’s many sponsors, for their invaluable support during the recent carnival season.

Special mention must be made of the following, without whom, the many successes and the shows we’ve brought to the public and our diehard fans would not be possible.

To further demonstrate our heartfelt appreciation and in an effort to give back to the society at large, The Legends Tent’s Manager and recently crowned 2009/2010 National Calypso Monarch, King Socrates, invites one and all to a very special calypso tent at the sprat Restaurant this coming Sunday at 8p.m. sharp.

This special occasion will be a tribute to one of our fallen band members, Mr. Valentine ‘Vallon’ Drew, who succumbed to his battle with cancer in 2009. Mr. Drew was an outstanding percussionist and vocalist and we wish to salute his contribution to the musical tapestry of our Nation with this special fundraiser.  The proceeds will be donated to the local cancer society.

Featured will be Queen Kibie, Queen Angie, King Astro, Lord Kut, Mighty J, Big Lice, Monarch, Hot Rod and King Socrates.

Some of the works of Drew will be featured and anyone who wishes to pay tribute to him, in form of song, poetry or just to share a memory will be welcomed to do so.
