BASSETERRE, St. Kitts — THE Cabinet has announced the start of the annual Christmas Concession period, which will take effect on December 1, 2025.
According to a post-Cabinet statement, "the Cabinet of Ministers is pleased to announce the period of Christmas Concessions for 2025. Effective December 1st, 2025, non-commercial importers and travellers will enjoy the following allowances: Gift packages containing food items will be exempt from duties and taxes on the first 400 pounds."
In addition, non-commercial imports will receive a duty-free allowance of EC$675 (US$250) off the CIF value.
The government noted that these concessions apply to goods landed in the Federation between December 1, 2025, and January 31, 2026.
According to the statement, these measures are intended to bring added relief to families and individuals during the festive season, helping to make Christmas more affordable and enjoyable for all.
