BASSETERRE, St. Kitts — THE Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force has charged a 17-year-old from Nevis with several traffic-related offences, including driving without permission and without proper documentation.

Because the accused is a minor, the individual’s identity has not been disclosed in keeping with legal protections.

According to a police statement, the offences include Taking a Vehicle Without the Consent of the Owner, Driving Without Insurance, and Driving Without a Valid Driver’s Licence.

Police said the charges were laid on October 14, 2025, at the New Castle Police Station, in the presence of the juvenile’s parents.

Following the formal charge, the teenager was released into parental custody under a Release of Child Detention Form, pending an appearance before the Department of Social Services on October 15, 2025.

A “Notice to Appear at Initial Inquiry” form was also issued.

The RSCNPF reiterated the importance of responsible vehicle ownership and adherence to traffic laws, particularly as they relate to minors operating motor vehicles.
