St. Kitts & Nevis National Carnival Committee, October 21st, 2025 -- In a continued effort to preserve and promote the vibrant cultural heritage of Calypso, the SKNNCC is pleased to announce its Recording Support Initiative (RSI) for Calypsonians releasing new music in October, 2025.
Building on the success of last year's initiative during Sugar Mas 53, this program aims to amplify the airplay and recognition of Calypso music throughout the season and ensure these songs receive the exposure they deserve. By providing financial support of EC$500 towards Calypsonians' recordings that are released in October, the SKNNCC aims to ensure these powerful voices are heard earlier in the season, across both traditional radio and social media.
This initiative not only underscores the SKNNCC’s commitment to supporting calypsonians but also ensures that the essence of our carnival — its music, stories, and heritage — is preserved and promoted for all to enjoy. With over 60 calypsonians registered in Calypso Tents this year, the upcoming season is set to be one of the most anticipated in recent memory.
The SKNNCC encourages all calypsonians to take advantage of this opportunity to release their music early and reach wider audiences, showcasing their exceptional talents.
