BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, January 6th 2010 (PAM Public Relations Office) - If Marcella Liburd abandons her own niece and nephew, why should we believe she won't abandon the people of central Basseterre and mindlessly rubber stamp the agenda of her political mentor, Denzil Douglas?
The people of Central Basseterre appreciate independent leadership - and that's not what Marcella Liburd offers. Marcella Liburd is Denzil Douglas' hand picked candidate for that constituency because Douglas knows that she won't stand up to him when he's wrong.
Character counts. It's telling that the Prime Minister hand picked someone who is being taken to court by her own nephew and niece for failing to meet her obligations to her family.
According to court documents, Liburd's niece and nephew experienced endless and countless difficulties in getting their aunt and Executrix of their fathers estate, Ms. Marcella Liburd, to provide them with their rightful inheritance. It's noted that Ms. Liburd even failed to purchase school books for their education!
The people of Central Basseterre deserve better than Marcella Liburd.
Roy Angus Fleming, the PAM Candidate for Change in Constituency #2, is a man that is committed to the people of Central Basseterre. He'll be an independent voice that puts the people of his constituency and their needs first. Marcella Liburd is a sycophant of Denzil Douglas of such questionable character as to allegedly mistreat her own niece and nephew.
Fleming spoke out: "The revelation of this matter shows the level of hypocrisy ,lack of accountability and the greed of Marcella Liburd. It shows a clear and true picture of her character and as far as I am concerned based on what has been outlined in the court matter she is frankly unworthy to represent the proud people of Central Basseterre. How can she be standing on a platform of Stronger Families, Safer Communities and Accountability when she her self according to these court documents does not exemplify such in her own family?"
The people of Central Basseterre deserve better than a Denzil Douglas sycophant who neglects her own family - the people deserve representation from a good man with strong morals who cares about the community.
