ROSEAU, Dominica – THE 25th edition of Dominica’s World Creole Music Festival exploded into life on opening night, delivering exactly what fans have come to expect – pure energy, vibrant culture, and unforgettable performances.
The iconic festival, known across the region for its rich Creole flavor and world-class entertainment, drew thousands to Windsor Park Stadium, all dressed in their brightest and boldest outfits, ready for a night of nonstop music.
The evening opened with a spirited performance from Oswald, who took the stage to a modest crowd that quickly swelled as the music intensified. His blend of reggae and Creole rhythms set the tone for what would become a thrilling night.
Legendary soca band Burning Flames kept the momentum high, digging deep into their extensive hit-filled catalogue. Their infectious beats had the crowd dancing, waving, and singing along in true Caribbean style.
But it was Romain Virgo who stole the show. Known for his smooth vocals and emotional delivery, Virgo captivated the audience from start to finish—reaffirming why he remains one of the region’s most beloved performers. Fans who saw him earlier this year at the St. Kitts Music Festival knew exactly what to expect, and he certainly delivered.
Masicka also electrified the stage with his signature lyrical prowess, solidifying night one as a powerhouse showcase of regional talent.
As the performances rolled into the early hours of Saturday morning, not a single patron attempted to leave—proof that the festival spirit was alive and well, carrying the celebration straight through until daybreak.
With two more nights to go, anticipation is sky-high. Night two promises even more excitement as the World Creole Music Festival continues its silver anniversary celebration in grand style.
