BASSETERRE, St. Kitts — POLICE have launched an investigation into a robbery that occurred in the Newtown area during the early hours of November 1, 2025.
According to the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force, the incident took place between 5:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. in the vicinity of George and Douglas Streets.
Reports indicate that Ronnie Barriteau, of Bird Rock, St. Kitts, was approached by a masked man armed with a firearm, who demanded his valuables. Barriteau complied, and the suspect fled the scene on foot.
Following investigations by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), with support from the Special Services Unit (SSU), one male suspect was taken into custody to assist with the probe.
In a separate matter, police have arrested and charged three individuals from Tabernacle Village with obstruction in connection with an incident that occurred on September 26, 2025, along Johnson Road, Tabernacle.
Those charged are Vernette Carey, Kimoya Laws, and Ishen French, all residents of Tabernacle Village. They each face two counts of obstruction and were formally charged at the Basseterre Police Station on the morning of November 2, 2025.
