BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE New Year was drummed in with new cheer from LIME as the telecommunications company announced Kristopher Crosse as the lucky winner of EC $30 000, bringing down the curtains on its six-week Christmas ‘Goodie Bag’ promotion.
Yesterday (Jan. 6), a colourful mini-motorcade rallied through the streets of Nevis to meet the winner at his Charlestown home, where LIME officials handed over the life-changing cheque.
Crosse, 23, told SKNVibes that he had plans to start a business before but because he is transitioning between jobs he found it difficult to do so. However, yesterday brought with it a new boost of hope for Crosse, who joyfully accepted his EC $30 000 cheque from LIME.
“I just feel real blessed right now! It is definitely something I was indirectly hoping for and it came in God’s timing. So, I’m just giving thanks. I’ve never won anything big, so this was a big surprise and I can do a lot of things with this. It’s important that I value the moment and the money,” the 2010 lucky winner proclaimed.
He said starting the New Year now feels like an advantage as he can “start new chapters in life as far as doing something worthwhile”. With advice from family and friends, along with assistance to be provided by a financial adviser from LIME, Crosse said he is poised to invest in his own business, adding that he has a number of good ideas for the prize money.
Crosse was prequalified to enter the drawing by topping up, making calls and upgrading to a new service. To win the grand prize, he was asked to state what the ‘L’ and ‘E’ in the acronym LIME stand for. With ease, the Charlestown resident was able to respond “Landline and Entertainment”.
His win meant even more to him when he found out that he was the first of 25 callers to get the letters in the acronym correct.
“Initially, I didn’t know what to think. I thought it was a joke, but now I thank God and LIME for this money. I want to let everybody know that it is only though God I am blessed. And, of course, LIME is great! I’ve been with them for a while and I have never really had problems with LIME! I’ll encourage others to join the LIME family!” he added.
LIME Corporate Communications Manager Laverne Caines said the cash prize was given at a critical time when economic projections indicate that this year may be challenging. She said the injection of EC $30 000 has the potential for economic stimulus and would spur much more consumer interest in LIME.
“There is a feel-good factor for our customers. We always want to make them believe and understand that we are really looking out for them. Customers are looking for more; they are looking for innovative ways to stimulate their interests and to build their loyalty and these are some of the things that we have to do to build that loyalty and keep customers near and dear to us,” Caines said in an interview with SKNVibes immediately following the handing-over ceremony.
According to Caines, customers can expect more valuable promotions as the company continues to take the lead in delivering Landline, Internet Mobile and Entertainment services to the people of the region.
