BASSETERRE, St. Kitts — AFTER a night of elegance, talent and theatrical flair, the British Virgin Islands emerged victorious at the 2025/2026 Haynes Smith Caribbean Talented Teen Pageant, with Maya Zareiah Venice Marcellin capturing the crown.
The event, held at the St. Kitts Marriott Resort and watched by a fair-sized crowd, unfolded with several twists and turns. No clear front-runner emerged heading into the final decision by the judges.
When the lights dimmed, Marcellin was announced the winner, while Miya Johnson of St. Lucia secured the First Runner-Up position and Ailyn Tavarez Sanchez of Anguilla placed Second Runner-Up.
“Maya captivated the audience and judges alike with her incredible talent, grace, and poise, proving exactly why she is a force to be reckoned with,” the organising committee stated in a social media post following the pageant.
In the judged segments, home favourite Miss St. Kitts and Nevis captured the Best Gown award. Guyana was recognised for Best Theatrical Wear, while St. Lucia earned Best Talent.
Minister with responsibility for Carnival, Samal Duggins, also extended congratulations to the newly crowned queen, saying: “Your performance last night at the St. Kitts Marriott Resort was a beautiful display of talent, confidence, and grace, truly deserving of the crown.”
Duggins added: “Well done as well to Miss St. Lucia, Miya Johnson, first runner-up, and Miss Anguilla, Ailyn Sanchez, second runner-up — both outstanding young women who shone brightly on the regional stage.
“I also commend Soriah Williams-Powell for proudly representing St. Kitts and Nevis with poise, passion, and excellence. You carried our flag high and did us proud.
“Congratulations to all the contestants, organisers, and supporters for delivering a memorable evening that continues to uplift youth talent and regional unity through culture and performance.”
