CHARLESTOWN, Nevis — POLICE have confirmed that four men arrested in 2023 in connection with the attempted robbery of the RAMS Supermarket in Nevis have been sentenced to His Majesty’s Prison for assault and robbery-related offences.

Police said that on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at about 2:30 p.m., five armed men entered the supermarket in an apparent attempt to carry out a brazen daytime robbery.
At the time, investigators reported that the assailants attacked a security guard with an umbrella and demanded that cashiers open the registers. They were unable to access the cash and eventually abandoned the attempt, fleeing the scene in a vehicle stolen from a customer who was entering the supermarket.
Police later confirmed that nothing was stolen from the establishment. Officers pursued the stolen vehicle in the Brown Hill area with four suspects inside. During the chase, the vehicle crashed into a wall. One man fled on foot, while three others were captured and taken into custody. The fifth suspect was not located at the time.
