3rd February 2026 -- The St. Kitts and Nevis Handball Association is proud to announce that the Federation has been awarded the honor of hosting the prestigious IHF Trophy North America and Caribbean Handball Confederation (NACHC) Beach Handball Championship.
This landmark event will take place in Frigate Bay from April 23rd to 27th, 2026, serving as a qualifier for the World Championship finals in Croatia in June 2026.
For the first time in history, this regional competition will be staged within the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) and the wider Eastern Caribbean, marking a significant milestone for sports development in the region. As the smallest member nation of the International Handball Federation (IHF), St. Kitts and Nevis is proud to showcase its commitment to the growth of handball, youth empowerment, and international sporting excellence.
In addition to the competition, the IHF will provide a delegate to conduct three specialized courses in Coaching, Refereeing, and Delegate Training. These initiatives will strengthen local capacity, enhance technical expertise, and establish St. Kitts and Nevis as a hub for handball development in the Caribbean.
President of the St. Kitts and Nevis Handball Association, Mr. Leroy Greene, expressed his excitement:
“Hosting this championship is a remarkable achievement for our nation. It will bring international attention to St. Kitts and Nevis and create lasting opportunities for our athletes, coaches, and officials. We look forward to working with all stakeholders to ensure the success of this historic event.”
Further details regarding organizational aspects and collaboration opportunities will be shared in the coming weeks.
