March 13th, 2026 -- On March 9th, Monday, the TaiwanICDF and the Government of Saint Kitts and Nevis signed the Green Energy Transition Demonstration Project, officially launching a collaborative effort to advance renewable energy and energy resilience. The signing was attended by Hon. Minister Konris Maynard for Saint Kitts and Nevis and Deputy Secretary General Alex L. J. Shyy for TaiwanICDF.
Building on TaiwanICDF’s ongoing work in the country, the project will help strengthen energy policy planning and technical capacity in Saint Kitts and Nevis. Key initiatives include power grid capacity analysis, energy policy advisory services, and the development of a smart microgrid demonstration, all aimed at enhancing renewable energy integration and bolstering energy system resilience.
As island nations, Taiwan and Saint Kitts and Nevis face similar challenges in energy security and climate change. Through this partnership, Taiwan will share its expertise in ICT and energy technologies, supporting sustainable development and green transformation for island nations.
