Liberty Caribbean celebrates newly SCTE-certified technicians

By: FLOW, Press Release

    - First certified graduates from Technician Pathways; 583 technicians now enrolled in programme

Miami, FLORIDA (March 13, 2026) -- Liberty Caribbean, the operators of Flow, Liberty Business and BTC, is proudly celebrating three of its technicians who recently earned professional certifications from the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE). The newly certified technicians are Amraz Hosein from Trinidad & Tobago and Lamar Uffer from Jamaica, who both earned Broadband Premises Installer (BPI) Certifications; and Antwon Walter from the Cayman Islands, who earned a Broadband Wireless Specialist (BWS) Certification.

Their achievement marks the first tangible success of the company’s Technician Pathways initiative launched in 2025 and underscores a wider organisational investment in technical excellence and workforce development across the region.

“Their success is the first milestone from Technician Pathways, a programme designed to professionalise field roles, raise service standards and create clear career progression for technicians across Liberty Caribbean’s footprint. To date, 583 technicians have enrolled in the programme and are actively working toward SCTE credentials,” said Dominic Boon, VP, People, Liberty Caribbean.

“Technicians are the backbone of our business. They are the ones who climb the poles, restore service after storms, engage with households and businesses, and keep our communities connected. Celebrating these certifications is about recognising individual dedication and reinforcing a culture of skills development that benefits colleagues, customers and the wider region. Technician Pathways is an investment in careers and in the quality of service our customers depend on every day.”

The Technician Pathways programme aligns local learning with global standards by combining structured training, mentorship and exam support with on-the-job coaching to accelerate learning and credential attainment.

“Amraz, Lamar and Antwon have set a new bar for technical mastery and professional pride.Their achievement demonstrates what is possible when we commit to learning, support colleagues through clear development pathways, and link training to recognised international
    accreditation,” added Boon.

Beyond immediate service benefits, Technician Pathways is a strategic step toward creating lasting career ladders for the Liberty Caribbean’s technical staff, as certified technicians will be positioned for advanced roles, mentoring responsibilities and participation in cross-market technical projects.
