Abuja, Nigeria, March 25, 2026 (PMO) - Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, Hon. Dr. Terrance Drew, delivered a forward-looking and deeply reflective address at the Afri-Caribbean Investment Summit, today, March 25th, in Abuja Nigeria, calling for bold, action-oriented engagement to strengthen ties between Africa and the Caribbean.
Speaking under the theme “Caribbean Perspectives on Unity and Prosperity,” Prime Minister Drew emphasized that meaningful progress between both regions must be rooted in deliberate action, strategic collaboration, and a shared commitment to transforming historical connections into tangible opportunities for people.
The Prime Minister highlighted the importance of visionary leadership in advancing this agenda, noting that efforts to deepen Africa-Caribbean relations may not always be immediately understood, but remain essential to long-term development and global positioning.
“For those who may not have understood, and even if they don't understand now, I still forgive them. For I understand that the move is bold and it's unapologetic.”
Dr. Drew underscored that the initiative to engage Africa at this level is grounded in a broader mission to reconnect a people linked by shared ancestry, history, and identity. He noted that the delegation from St. Kitts and Nevis and the wider Caribbean represents not only participation, but purpose, bringing together talent, leadership, and opportunity to foster meaningful exchange and collaboration.
He further positioned St. Kitts and Nevis as an emerging bridge between Africa and the Caribbean, reaffirming the Government’s commitment to strengthening partnerships, expanding economic linkages, and advancing South-South cooperation.
Prime Minister Drew stressed that the moment calls for courage, clarity, and decisive action, as both regions work to shape a future defined by togetherness, prosperity, and shared progress.
