BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, January 9, 2010 (Labour Secretariat) - The People’s Action Movement (PAM) have shown their true colours again—that they are a party of victimization and destruction.

Several posters and a billboard of candidate for Constituency #5, Dr. Norgen Wilson, were torn down and vandalized by alleged supporters of the PAM.

It is the kind of “desperation politics” being employed by the PAM because they know that they are on the losing side.

Prime Minister, Hon. Dr. Denzil Douglas, when he announced the date for the General Elections on January 7, made an urgent appeal for respect and tolerance during the election campaign and elections.

“We pray it would be peaceful and harmonious,” said Dr. Douglas, referring to the elections.

The PAM, by allegedly engaging in such destructive activity, has shown that they are not interested in the democratic process of fair and free elections.

The Labour Party has always been on the side of democracy and does not have to resort to the kind of undemocratic “desperate politics” engaged in by the PAM.

Editor-in-Chief's Note: In an attempt to ascertain the authenticity of this allegation, SKNVibes contacted a member of staff of the Labour Secretariat who said the report was made by the Campaign Manager of the Labour Party's candidate for Constituency Number Five. The question of the matter being reported to the police was also asked and the staff member said he could not give a positively answer. This media house also called the Sandy Point Police Station and enquired of the Officer-in-Charge but was told he was unavailable. The officer on duty however stated that she was unaware of any report made concerning the vandalisation of the posters and billboard.
