NIA CHARLESTOWN, NEVIS (March 31, 2026) - Minister of Agriculture in the Nevis Island Administration (NIA), Deputy Premier the Honourable Eric Evelyn, has hailed the 30th anniversary of Agri Expo as an overwhelming success, citing record-breaking participation from both vendors and patrons.

The landmark agricultural exposition, a vibrant celebration of Nevis’ rich agricultural heritage and its sustainable future, was held over two days, March 26 and 27, at the Elquemedo T. Willett Park in Charlestown.

Highlighting agriculture’s critical role in food security, economic growth, and community resilience, Hon. Evelyn reflected on the evolution of Agri Expo over the past three decades, noting its transformation into one of the island’s most anticipated and impactful events.

“Agri Expo, in my estimation, was an overwhelming success. This year the participation was at an all-time high. We had 147 registered vendors as opposed to 87 in 2025.

“This is an event that people in St. Kitts and Nevis look forward to, people in the sub-region look forward to, and I don’t think that anyone who would have attended Agri Expo 30 would have been disappointed in any way. I want to commend all who took part and all who attended. The feedback has been extraordinary and once again we lived up to expectations.”

Hon. Evelyn noted that the event continues to attract delegations from neighbouring islands, including Anguilla, St. Martin, and St. Eustatius, further cementing its status as a premier regional agricultural showcase. He also commended the Ministry and Department of Agriculture for their dedication in delivering a well-executed event.

“We continue to attract persons from the sub-region and I dare say that our Agri-Expo is by far the biggest and the most well-organised event of its kind in the sub-region.

“I am exceptionally pleased with the way the event was organised and executed; it was practically seamless on both days, and so I want to say a very big thank you to the entire team at the Ministry and Department of Agriculture for going far beyond the call of duty to ensure that we have another hugely successful event.”

Agri Expo continues to showcase the diversity of Nevis’ agricultural sector, featuring displays ranging from fruits and ornamental plants to fresh produce, livestock, agro-processed goods, and fisheries. The exhibition reflects the strong connection between land and sea that defines the island’s agricultural landscape.

Held under the theme “Rooted in History, Utilizing Land & Sea,” Agri Expo 30 offered a dynamic mix of exhibits, competitions, entertainment, and educational activities designed to engage patrons of all ages while promoting local production and consumption.

Marking its 30-year milestone, the Expo stands as a testament to the dedication and resilience of Nevis’ farmers and stakeholders. Hon. Evelyn underscored the importance of sustained investment in agriculture, innovation, and youth engagement to ensure the long-term growth and sustainability of the sector.
