Sandy Point Benevolent Society Hosts Once More a Successful Easter Breakfast Bash 2026

By: SPBS, Press Release

Annual fundraiser draws strong community turnout at Church of the Holy Nativity in the Bronx

Bronx, NY - April 4, 2026 -- The Sandy Point Benevolent Society (SPBS), a New York–based 501(c)(3) nonprofit alumni association of the former Sandy Point High School (now Charles E. Mills Secondary School) in St. Kitts, hosted its annual Easter Breakfast Bash on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at the Church of the Holy Nativity in the Bronx, New York. The event was a resounding success, bringing together members, donors, supporters, and friends of the organization for a morning of fellowship, food, and community spirit.

The Easter Breakfast Bash is one of SPBS’s signature fundraising events, with all proceeds directed toward the organization’s mission of supporting education and positive youth activities in Sandy Point and surrounding communities in St. Kitts. Through its programs, SPBS provides annual scholarships to students attending Charles E. Mills Secondary School, Verchild’s High School and the Dr Denzil L Douglas Secondary School, formally Saddlers Secondary School, donates educational resources and equipment, and funds community-oriented initiatives.

Mr. Trevor Duggins, Chairman of SPBS, welcomed the attendees and called on Sis Debbie Richardson to ask God’s blessing on the occasion and the food, before the Vice President Dr. Mervyn Richardson set the stage for a morning well spent. “We are incredibly grateful to everyone who came out and supported this year’s breakfast,” said Mervyn, Vice President of SPBS. “The turnout and generosity of our community remind us why we do this work - because together, we give back so others can move forward.

Attendees enjoyed a vibrant Caribbean-inspired breakfast while connecting with fellow members of the Sandy Point diaspora and wider community. The event also served to build excitement for the organization’s upcoming Boat Ride that leaves World’s Fair Marina in Flushing Queens on June 27, 2026 ($65 gets you on the boat) and the Annual Awards Gala, scheduled for Saturday, September 5, 2026, at Maestro’s Banquet Hall in the Bronx, NY - $150 donation and an open bar.

SPBS extends its sincere thanks to all attendees, donors, volunteers, DJ Delbert and company and the Church of the Holy Nativity for hosting the event.
