Easter DVRD Set for April 17; Summer and Christmas Dates Confirmed
Basseterre, Saint Kitts – April 10, 2026 – In a continued effort to stimulate economic activity and provide meaningful financial relief to citizens and residents, the Government of Saint Kitts and Nevis today released the 2026 schedule for its Discounted Value Added Tax (VAT) Rate Days. Building on the success of previous initiatives, these designated shopping periods will offer substantial savings on qualifying purchases during key times of the year.
The following dates have been approved for the reduced VAT rate:
Easter: Friday, April 17, 2026 – Vehicles are EXCLUDED from the discounted rate.
Summer (Back-to-School): Friday August 28 and Saturday August 29, 2026 – Vehicles are EXCLUDED from the discounted rate.
Christmas: Friday December 11 and Saturday December 19, 2026 – Vehicles WILL BE INCLUDED in the discounted rate.
These initiatives are designed to ease the financial burden on households, boost consumer spending, and support local retailers during critical seasonal periods.
