BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE Federation has once again awakened to tragic news, as another individual was killed in an early morning shooting.
Police have confirmed that a young man was fatally shot at a nightclub in Lime Kiln earlier today. Authorities say the investigation is still in its early stages, and the victim has not yet been formally identified.
This latest incident follows a separate shooting in Ottley’s Village between 7:30 a.m. and 8:00 a.m.
Preliminary investigations indicate that Jerod Robert Stapleton, also known as “Jay Bay,” had left his home shortly before 8:00 a.m. and travelled to his farm. Upon arrival, he was reportedly confronted by one or more armed assailants, who opened fire on his vehicle. Stapleton sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the head and upper body and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
