Basseterre, Saint Kitts, April 23, 2026 (SKNIS): Senator and Minister of State, the Honourable Isalean Phillip, has been named as a 2026 Young Global Leader and a member of the Forum for Young Global Leaders by the World Economic Forum (WEF).
In an April 16, 2026, post on their official website www.weforum.org, Minister Phillip of Saint Kitts and Nevis was named one of six Caribbean leaders identified out of a cohort of 118 under-40 influential young people in academia, business, sports, civil society, government, arts and culture, social entrepreneurship and media.
The men and women from more than 50 countries are celebrated as next-generation leaders who bring fresh perspectives, adaptability and a willingness to lead in times of uncertainty.
As the Minister of State with responsibility for Social Development and Gender Affairs, and the Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Ageing and Disability, Honourable Phillip has spearheaded the government’s transformative agenda focused on equity, protection and inclusion. Under her leadership, the ministry has successfully strengthened child protection laws and expanded meaningful engagement opportunities for seniors. The minister also remains a steadfast advocate for the rights and accessibility of persons with disabilities, while ensuring that youth perspectives are central to good governance, as well as the inclusion of youth in policy and decision-making processes.
The 2026 Young Global Leader Cohort joins a global community focussed on leadership development, collaboration and impact across key global challenges. The community includes more than 1,400 members from over 120 countries.
