Press Release Post NACHC Handball Championships

    Basseterre, St Kitts – Wednesday 29th April 2026 - The North American and Caribbean Handball Championships (NACHC) wrapped up an action-packed weekend of competition, at the Marriott Beach on Sunday 26th April 2026

     

    Team United States of America (USA) clinched the male competition with victory over Puerto Rico in a hard-fought tussle in the sand. Team USA won the women’s section with some exciting and innovative movement of the ball. The international delegates here on island all agreed: this was top level handball” and that congratulations were due to all the teams. 
     
    Teams competing were: United States of America (USA), Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico. Cuba, Haiti, Trinidad and Tobago, Dominica, Antigua and Barbuda and St Kitts and Nevis.   
     
    In all ten (10) male teams and seven (7) female teams. This was the biggest competition in the history of handball in NACHC. 
     
    The three (3) day event marked another step in promoting Handball in the smaller countries where handball is not a household name.
