By: Staff Reporter, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – POLICE in St. Kitts and Nevis have confirmed that the individual recently killed in Dominica was a national of St. Kitts and Nevis, as authorities in the “Nature Isle” continue their investigations into the matter.

In a media statement published Monday on its website, the police said the national, who had been residing in the Commonwealth of Dominica, was recently killed there. The statement emphasized that “the matter is currently under active investigation by the law enforcement authorities in Dominica.”

The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force said it remains in contact with authorities in Dominica and is continuing to monitor developments surrounding the investigation.

Police also noted that, “At this stage, preliminary investigations do not suggest any connection between the deceased’s death and any criminal matter or court proceeding in which he may be involved in St. Kitts and Nevis.”

During a press conference on Monday, police in Dominica said officers responded to a shooting incident in the Portsmouth area, where the body was discovered.

Authorities in Dominica have not formally identified the deceased as investigations continue.

Meanwhile, the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force has cautioned members of the public against speculation and the circulation of unverified information, particularly on social media. Police warned that such actions could negatively impact the ongoing investigation and cause further distress to the family and loved ones of the deceased.
