BASSETERRE, St Kitts – POLICE have launched an investigation into a traffic accident that claimed the life of Victoria McElwee of Half Moon Bay Villas, Frigate Bay.
According to a police statement issued Saturday, preliminary investigations indicate that motor jeep R-18 was travelling along Half Moon Bay Road when it struck a curb wall. The impact reportedly caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle, which flipped several times before crashing into a building at Half Moon Bay Villas.
The vehicle came to rest on its roof with Ms McElwee trapped inside. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing, and police say updates will be provided as they become available.
Police said an autopsy will also be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.
