Update: Police Continue Search for Missing Hiker

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – POLICE have confirmed that the search continues for missing Chinese visitor Wang Ziyuan, who was last seen on the Mt. Liamuiga trail on  May 27, 2026.

     

    The operation has now entered its fourth day.

     

    In a statement issued today (May 31), the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF) said that over the past two days, joint search teams have conducted extensive operations across the mountain. The teams include officers from the RSCNPF, the St. Kitts-Nevis Defence Force, the St. Kitts-Nevis Fire and Rescue Department, the Police Training School, the Forest Unit, the Red Cross, and the Ross University K9 Unit.

     

    Search efforts on Thursday and Friday, continued throughout each day. However, Mr. Wang has not yet been located.

     

    The RSCNPF and its partner agencies remain committed to the search and have pledged to continue operations until further notice. Authorities said updates will be provided as more information becomes available.

     

    The Police Force also thanked the volunteers, agencies, and members of the public who have supported the ongoing search effort.
