BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF) has confirmed that the body of missing hiker Wang Zyuan has been found after an extensive search of the Mt. Liamuiga area.
Wang, 33, was reported missing after setting out on the Mt. Liamuiga trail on Wednesday (May 27).
In a statement posted on social media on Monday evening (June 1), police confirmed that search teams located his body earlier in the day.
“It is with deep regret that the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF) confirms that Mr. Wang Zyuan, who had been missing on the Mt. Liamuiga trail since Wednesday, May 27, 2026, was located deceased on Monday, June 1, 2026, by one of the search teams,” the statement said.
Since Wang was reported missing, joint teams from the RSCNPF, the St. Kitts-Nevis Defence Force, the St. Kitts-Nevis Fire and Rescue Services, the Police Training School, the Forest Unit, the Red Cross, the Ross University K9 Unit, and community volunteers conducted daily searches of the mountain.
Police extended condolences to Wang's family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time, urging the public to refrain from speculation and to rely only on official sources for accurate information as investigations continue.
