The scholarship donor, Mrs. Tisha Sinnette-Nguyen, who resides in Massachusetts, USA, noted that, “This scholarship is funded in loving memory of my parents, Nelson Sinnette and Yvonne Sinnette, who placed a high value on education and its power to transform lives. It is both an honour and a privilege to continue their legacy by awarding this scholarship to a deserving recipient who reflects their values—demonstrating grit, perseverance, and resilience in the face of challenges.”

The scholarship is awarded to a national of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago who is currently enrolled in an undergraduate programme at The UWI Global Campus and has demonstrated exceptional academic achievement and community involvement. The UWI Global Campus acknowledges with gratitude the generous contribution of Mrs. Tisha Sinnette-Nguyen in supporting talented and deserving students. Her commitment to expanding educational opportunities will continue to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students in Trinidad and Tobago.

Commenting on this positive development, Pro Vice-Chancellor and Principal Dr Francis O. Severin declares, “Ms. Yamine Trotman needs to be celebrated, and I am grateful to Mrs. Tisha Sinnette-Nguyen, a good friend of the Global Campus, for recognising Yamine in that regard. Others can learn so much from our deserving student in terms of her public activism, community spirit and good ‘citizenship’ in being the ‘originator’ of a philanthropic organisation that offers mental health support

to women. This is commendable, and the urgent need for such interventions cannot be underestimated. I wish her absolute success as she strives to be the best social worker that she can be.”

The UWI Global Campus extends heartfelt congratulations to Ms. Yamine Trotman on this well-deserved achievement and wishes her continued success in her academic pursuits and future endeavours.
