BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, January 11th 2009 (Labour Secretariat) - Deputy Prime Minister and Parliamentary Representative for West Basseterre, Hon. Sam Condor said that the People’s Action Movement (PAM) is the biggest disaster to hit this country.

Speaking on January 7 before a gigantic crowd at Baker’s Corner in East Basseterre, where the election date was announced by Prime Minister, the Hon. Denzil Douglas, Condor told the party faithful that they couldn’t afford to make a retrograde step with the PAM.

“This country has known disaster, we have known earthquakes, floods and hurricanes, but the biggest disaster to hit this country is the People’s Action Movement,” Condor said. “We must make sure that that disaster never revisits us”.

“Those disasters have left us with a lot of scars and the Labour Party has turned all those scars into stars. Follow the stars, follow Labour,” Condor said.

He urged those gathered to never take the development of their country for granted “otherwise we could lose all the gain that we have achieved over the years”.

Condor also asked the party faithful to go out in their numbers to vote because “these are serious times, crucial times and we cannot afford any slippage”.

“We have to continue to develop this country, to build this country, not only for this generation but for generations to come,” he said.
