TDC continues to honour the legacy Runako Morton through Youth Cricket

    July 1st, 2026 -- Primary school cricket action has returned to the E T W Park in Charlestown, Nevis, thanks to the corporate sponsorship of the St. Kitts Nevis Anguilla Trading and Development Company Limited (TDC), the title sponsor of the 2026 Runako Morton TDC Primary Schools Cricket Tournament.

     

    Named in memory of the late Runako Morton, one of Nevis' most accomplished cricketers, this year’s tournament serves as an enduring tribute to his legacy while providing young aspiring cricketers with an invaluable opportunity to develop their cricketing abilities, build confidence, and embrace the values that sport instils.

     

    Beyond the competition itself, annual tournament encourages teamwork, discipline, respect, leadership, resilience, fair play and good sportsmanship; qualities that extend far beyond the cricket field for young boys and girls from participating in primary schools on Nevis.

     

    Commenting on the Company's ongoing partnership, Mr. Ernie France, Head of Nevis Operations stated:

    The 2026 tournament will see eight primary schools namely the St. Thomas’, Charlestown, Voilet O Jeffers Nicholls, Maude Crosse, Ivor Walters, Elzabeth Pemberton, St. James’ and Joycelyn Liburd primary schools take to the pitch in a spirited celebration of youth cricket, to showcase their talent in a competitive yet supportive environment.

     

    It will also play an important role in identifying and nurturing the next generation of cricketing talent while strengthening the island’s proud sporting heritage.
