CHARLESTOWN, Nevis (July 20, 2026) – The Nevis Reformation Party (NRP) officially launched the campaign of Mr. Mario Phillip, its candidate for Constituency #11 (St. Thomas and St. James Parish), during an energetic and well-attended political rally on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at the bottom of Jessups Road in St. Thomas Parish.
The evening began with a spirited motorcade that departed the Butlers Community Centre at 5 p.m., travelling throughout Constituency #11 before culminating at the launch venue.
Hundreds of supporters, dressed in the party's signature green, lined the streets before gathering for the 7 p.m. rally, which featured musical entertainment, giveaways and addresses from party officials and the candidate. The event was broadcast live on Freedom FM 106.5 FM, 2020 Vision Radio 102.1 FM and the NRP's official Facebook and YouTube platforms.
In an emotional and inspiring address, Mr. Phillip, who serves in the Department of Gender Affairs in Nevis, thanked God, his family, friends and the many individuals who have guided and inspired him throughout his life.
He paid heartfelt tribute to his mother, grandmother and father for their unwavering love, sacrifice and support, saying their values helped shape the man he is today.
Phillip also expressed appreciation to his mentors, including Lorette Brand-Willett, whose guidance and belief in his potential, he said, prepared him for a life of public service and leadership.
Recognising the rich political heritage of Constituency #11, Mr. Phillip honoured several distinguished leaders who helped shape Nevis' political landscape. He paid tribute to National Hero Sir. Dr. Simeon Daniel, regarded as the father of Nevisian self-determination; former Premier Hon. Joseph W. Parry; former parliamentarian Hon. Victor Jay Martin; and former Parliamentary Representative for Constituency #11 Hon. Patrice Nisbett for their lasting contributions to the people of St. Thomas and St. James.
Throughout his address, Mr. Phillip emphasised that his campaign is centred on putting people first. Running under the slogan, "Mario for the People," he pledged to be an accessible, energetic and compassionate parliamentary representative who would advocate for every resident while creating greater opportunities for young people, families, senior citizens and the business community.
"This campaign is about restoring hope, strengthening our communities and ensuring that every voice matters," Phillip said. "Together, we can build a stronger Constituency #11 and a brighter future for Nevis."
The launch marked the official start of the NRP's campaign in Constituency #11 ahead of the 2027 National Assembly elections, with the party presenting Mr. Phillip as a candidate committed to integrity, service, accountability and community development.
