The Caribbean Premier League is deeply saddened by the passing of Charles L. A. Wilkin CMG KC, a distinguished St Kitts and Nevis attorney and lifelong cricket administrator who died on July 25, 2026.
Mr Wilkin was a founding member of the CPL's cricket committee, lending his knowledge of the game and his standing in Caribbean cricket to the tournament as it took shape ahead of its 2013 launch. His guidance in those early days helped establish the structures and standards that underpinned the CPL's growth into the region's premier T20 franchise competition.
He was also instrumental in bringing CPL cricket to St Kitts and Nevis, drawing on his work developing Warner Park into an international-standard venue to help secure matches for the Federation and pave the way for the St Kitts & Nevis Patriots' entry into the league.
A former first-class cricketer who played for Cambridge University and the Combined Leeward and Windward Islands, Wilkin remained devoted to the sport throughout his life, later chairing the local organising committee that brought the ICC Cricket World Cup to St Kitts in 2007.
The CPL extends its deepest condolences to Mr Wilkin's family, friends, and the people of St Kitts and Nevis.
