BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE assistance of the public is being sought by the family members of Dave Sylvester Gordon who are endeavouring to ascertain his whereabouts.
A press release issued by the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force’s Press and Public Relations Officer, Inspector Vaughan Henderson, explains that Gordon, a resident of Shaw Avenue, McKnight, is missing and was last seen by family members in the McKnight area at approximately 8:00 in the morning on Thursday, January 7.
The communiqué suggests that Gordon, 40, journeyed to the Franklands Mountain area that morning, where “he cultivates a piece of land and has not been seen or heard from ever since”.
Speaking exclusively with SKNVibes, Rhonda Browne, sister of the missing man, explained that she last saw her sibling on the day he went missing.
“I saw him on J’Ouvert Morning and then last week Thursday (Jan 7) I saw him, and then I haven’t seen him again. On Sunday when I got home, everyone was calling me asking me have I seen my brother…I said, ‘no’, and they said he is missing from since Thursday from the last time I saw him and that’s it.”
Browne says her brother normally hangs out on the Bay Road, in the vicinity of the Ferry Terminal, where he assists two individuals who conduct business in that area. She explained that after being alerted that he brother was missing, she made attempts to contact him via his cellular telephone but those attempts have so far proven futile.
The concerned sister says her brother is known to journey “into the hills” where, according to the police communiqué, “he cultivates a piece of land”.
Browne said while she is concerned about her brother’s safety and whereabouts, his entire family, specifically his children, are deeply troubled over the situation and are praying for his safe return.
“I am hoping he is up in the hills, alive,” Browne expressed, adding that she knows him to be an amicable person who does not get embroiled in mischief.
The missing man has been described as being dark in complexion, 5’7” in height, weighs an approximate 170 lbs, stocky in build and normally wears a full beard and a “full head of short hair”.
Persons having information relative to this case are asked to contact the nearest police station or Gordon’s daughter, Shenell Browne, at 465-3503 or 667-7979. Inspector Henderson has reminded that information could be given on condition of anonymity and all information received would be held in strict confidence.
