Education Minister fails! Condor publicly said…“A dog had a bone in his hand…”

Minister of Education Hon. Sam Condor
PAM Secretariat

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, January 12th 2009 (PAM Secretariat) - As many persons continue to complain about the woeful English being expressed by several candidates of the Labour Party and the recent declaration made by the Prime Minister that the people within his Constituency do not speak English, there is further revelation of a backward trend in the education sector since the Labour Party went into office.

This was evidenced by the statements made at the Labour Party’s meeting held in Travalgular Village on Monday evening. At the meeting, Parliamentary representative for Constituency Three and the Federation’s Minister of Education, Sam Condor, was relating a story when he stunned the crowd with a statement. His tale to the public was about the “dog and bone”.

Supporters and listeners heard the Education Minister said: “…and there was this dog who was going over the river and he had a bone in his hand when he saw a bigger bone…”

It is universally understood that dogs do not have hands and many noted that poor grammar is the hallmark of the Labour Party, as many of the country’s Ministers have been quoted making similar statements in and out of the Federation, resulting in significant embarrassment to the people of St. Kitts and Nevis.

Several individuals at the meeting noted that his statement is confirmation of the current level of the Federation’s educational standard. A number of them expressed grave concerns and a desire to have it rescued from further deterioration by the Labour Party.

“How could he be the Minister of Education and utters such rubbish on the political platform when he is aware that thousands of people are listening around the world. We are being made a laughing stock by the Labour Party, as each of the Ministers continues to demonstrate their inability to understand and express the basic English Language,” said a young lady from Challengers who was present at the meeting.

Some persons are suggesting that Minister Condor, being a Parliamentarian for some 20-odd years, should seek to return to school in order to upgrade his limited knowledge of the English Language, thereby preventing any further embarrassment to the people of St. Kitts and Nevis.

Meanwhile, commenting on the comments made by Minister Condor, the People’s Action Movement candidate for Constituency Three, Bernard Welsh, declared that the public needs to vote for Change so as to ensure that the Federation is rescued from the grave leadership of the Labour Party.
