Nevis Sun Tours Announces New Theatrical Production: The Trial of Hamilton and Nelson debuting THIS Saturday, August 29 at 6pm
Charlestown, Nevis, August 24 2026 -- Nevis Sun Tours is pleased to announce the First Sitting of the Court's 2026-2027 Inaugural Season featuring The Trial of Hamilton and Nelson, an original courtroom?style theatrical presentation that examines the legacies of Alexander Hamilton and Admiral Horatio Nelson through a series of compelling legal arguments which impact Nevis and the wider world today. Set on the island that shaped both men’s early lives and careers, the production offers audiences a fresh, thought?provoking lens on history.
Rather than appearing on stage themselves, Hamilton and Nelson’s lives, choices, and historical impact are explored through attorneys who argue four central charges. Each charge invites the audience, which becomes the jury, to consider how these two influential figures shaped the Caribbean, the emerging United States, and the wider world.
The Four Charges:
1. Emotional Attachment to the Island of Nevis
2, Participation in Wars for Revolution and Empire Expansion
3. Scandalous Behavior and Breach of Marital Vows
4. Complicity in Support of the Institution of Slavery
Through these four charges, The Trial of Hamilton and Nelson blends historical insight with theatrical storytelling, offering this audience rich material for debate, challenges to current policies and more. Indeed, the audience becomes the jury and actively pronounces who carries the burden of guilt.
