Bird Rock, St. Kitts, January 12, 2009 (Labour Secretariat) - Parliamentary Representative for Constituency #1, Hon. Dr. Earl Assim Martin, said that in 15 years significant development has taken place in the Bird Rock.

Speaking on the campaign trail in Bird Rock on Monday, Dr. Martin said that he is committed to the people of his constituency and that when re-elected for a next term he would continue to be devoted to the progress of his constituency.

Dr. Martin outlined a number of improvements in the Bird Rock area including better roads and greater facilities for water. He said that since his tenure as Parliamentary Representative for the area, there are now three reservoirs instead of one.

The new Bird Rock Silver Jubilee Stadium is the envy of many and international track meets can now be accommodated in St. Kitts such as the Carifta Games in 2008, he said.
He said that complaints in the area about low voltage would be addressed and that he is committed to upgrading the voltage situation in his next term.

Dr. Martin also gave an assurance that Bentel’s Drive would be given a transformation in terms of a better road system.
