BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – POLICE are investigating an armed robbery at Panda Grocery in Sandy Point, St. Kitts, which occurred on September 5, 2026, between 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m.
According to a media statement from the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF), preliminary investigations indicate that two armed individuals entered the establishment and demanded cash at gunpoint.
The suspects reportedly took an undisclosed sum of money before fleeing the scene on a red scooter in the direction of Basseterre. No injuries were reported.
The RSCNPF Crime Scene Unit processed the scene and collected several items believed to be of evidentiary value.
Meanwhile, police have also announced the sentencing of two Sandy Point residents for a separate robbery committed in Belle Vue, St. Kitts, on November 3, 2023.
Zhane Warner and Sadonis Jarvis were found guilty of robbery and sentenced on September 2, 2026, at the High Court in Basseterre. The matter was heard before His Lordship Justice Patrick Thompson Jr.
Warner was sentenced to two years’ imprisonment, suspended for three years, along with additional conditions imposed by the court.
Among those conditions is a requirement for Warner to pay a monthly fine of EC$750 for 36 months, beginning October 2, 2026.
The court warned that any breach of the conditions could result in Warner being brought back before the court.
Jarvis was sentenced to four years at His Majesty’s Prison and ordered to pay EC$5,000 in compensation to the victim within 12 months of his release.
