BASSETERRE, St Kitts – POLICE have confirmed that one person is in custody in connection with the death of 27-year-old Jamie Douglas of Ponds Extension.
According to a statement issued by the Police Force, Douglas died following an incident at West Street, Newtown, on the evening of September 14, 2026.
Preliminary enquiries indicate that Douglas sustained serious injuries during the incident and was taken to the Joseph N. France General Hospital, where he was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit for treatment.
He was pronounced dead in the early hours of September 15.
Police said an autopsy will be conducted to determine the precise cause of death. One person is currently in police custody in connection with Douglas’ death.

Douglas’ death brings the number of homicides in St Kitts and Nevis to seven for the year.
